Telecorp
TeleCorp PCS is the largest
AT&T Wireless affiliate in the United States, with
licenses covering approximately 16.5 million people. The
Company provides its SunCom wireless personal communications
services in selected markets in the south-central and
northeast United States and in Puerto Rico, encompassing
eight of the 100 largest metropolitan areas in the United
States. Since February 1999, TeleCorp has launched its
services in 24 markets, including all of its major markets,
and currently has more than 100,000 subscribers. The
Company's launched networks cover approximately 65% of its
licensed population as of September 30, 1999.
TeleCorp's markets include:
- New Orleans, Baton
Rouge, Lafayette, New Iberia, Houma, Thibodeaux and
Hammond, Louisiana;
- Memphis and Jackson,
Tennessee;
- Little Rock, Hot
Springs, Fayetteville and Jonesboro, Arkansas;
- Concord, Manchester,
Portsmouth and Nashua, New Hampshire;
- Worcester, Cape Cod,
Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, Massachusetts;
- San Juan, Ponce and
Arecibo, Puerto Rico.
The
Company recently announced its intent to merge with Tritel. Scott Anderson
served on the board.
