Working
with Cedar Grove Investments
Cedar
Grove Investments is based upon the original venture capital
model where successful executives pool together capital
and expertise to assist promising entrepreneurs in the heavy
lifting of creating great companies.
This
approach affords us a certain flexibility and continuity
not otherwise enjoyed by traditional venture funds. We can
fund companies at the very earliest stages and stay with
them long-term. While we like to focus our energies and
skills on targeted industries, our flexibility also means
that we can also look outside our core focus for new and
exciting opportunities.
We
work together with entrepreneurs, sometimes before the concept
for a new company has even been charted, and continue as
active shareholders throughout their growth. Our typical
investment generally ranges from $250 thousand to $2 million,
but we will also seed and perhaps incubate promising young
startups with as little at $50 thousand until a concept
is proven.
We
have been very successful in working with many of the most
prominent venture capitalists to raise follow on rounds
needed to take the next step in growing the business and
developing important relationships. Likewise, we have been
instrumental in recruiting top-flight management and technical
teams from the CEO on down for our start-up companies.
We
are interested in working with exceptional people and experienced
management teams first and foremost. Secondarily, we look
for a strong business model, growing market, defensible
technology and a potential industry leadership position.
We recognize that not all start-ups possess all of these
attributes at the time of investment, and because of that
Cedar Grove Investments seeks to help entrepreneurs win
by building world-class businesses that ultimately succeed
in all these areas.
