Bill
Heston
Bill has more than 15 years of experience in the areas of
internet marketing, commerce and development, strategic
business development, and venture capital. Prior to joining
Cedar Grove in 1999, he was a Getty Images Senior Vice
President, where he managed business development as well as the Internet
initiatives for PhotoDisc and Getty Images.
Heston was one of PhotoDisc's first employees. He created
and directed PhotoDisc's online initiatives beginning in
1995. Additional
activities include leading the creation and development
of PhotoDisc's industry partnerships with firms such as
Microsoft, Netscape, Hewlett-Packard and Adobe Systems.
When
publicly held Getty Images acquired PhotoDisc, he continued
in his Senior Vice President role with Getty where he managed
the development of the first e-commerce site for Tony Stone
Images, the largest provider of stock photography. Recently,
he managed the planning and early development work for the
recently launched Gettyone photography hub site.
Before
joining the PhotoDisc team 4 years ago, Bill was a general
partner at The Phoenix Partners, a Seattle-based venture
capital firm. In this position he acted as investor, president,
board chairman and director for various computer and healthcare
start-up companies, including Conner Peripherals, Sunward
Technologies, Incyte Pharmaceuticals, La Jolla Pharmaceuticals
and Ontos, Inc.
He
earned his bachelor's degree in business and engineering
from Purdue University and a master's of business administration
from George Washington University.
Bill
has been a featured speaker at Internet World, Seybold,
Macworld and the Software Publisher's Association. Representative
deals that Heston has been involved with include Amazon.com,
Avenue A Media, GoAhead Software, Netstock and Atom Films.
